Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

SEGA’s first pinball machine is the company’s only attempt to create a machine based off of a horror film, accentuated by Paul Faris’ gothic art package. The main gimmick of the machine is a model of Frankenstein’s monster that can hold up to 2 balls and release them during multiball play, qualified by shooting the ramp enough times. Modes are started by spelling FRANKENSTEIN using the white targets around the playfield, but shooting the various saucers around the playfield helps make this process easier. The game features two main soundtracks, the original movie soundtrack and “Frankenstein” by Edgar Winter, which can be selected between at the start of each game.
