One of Steve Ritchie’s most popular pinball machines, and the turning point for pinball as one of the very first pinball machines to tell a proper story. Complete the standup targets around the playfield to advance the stop light, then shoot the side ramp to run the red light and start a police chase multiball where shooting the side ramp again will score the jackpot and allow the player to use the abandoned hideouts to store locked balls. High Speed had a number of other firsts as well: it was the first pinball machine to play a complete song (the jackpot collected / multiball themes), and the first game to include a jackpot that could only be obtained during multiball play, redefining “modern” pinball for the next few decades.
