Black Knight

The very first solid-state pinball machine to include a multi-level playfield, Black Knight was one of Steve Ritchie’s most famous pinball designs and one of the most popular pinball machines of the 1980s, meriting two sequels by the same designer. Using the upper playfield, players can lock balls for 2-or-3-ball multiball where all scoring is multiplied based on the number of balls in play, and complete as many drop target banks as possible for chances at extra balls or specials. The inlanes feature a magna-save rule, where pressing the secondary flipper button on each side with the right timing will slow the ball down and release it safely through the inlane. Steve Ritchie himself voices the Black Knight on this machine, and would for the next two machines in the series as well.
